The BER Berlin Brandenburg Airport
Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport went into operation in October 2020. The former Schönefeld Airport was expanded by 970 hectares to a total area of 1,470 hectares. Directly under Terminal 1 is the efficient, six-track railway station with three platforms.
BER takes you directly to the heart of Berlin or the entire state of Brandenburg by public transport. You can quickly reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Potsdam by regional train. Here you can explore castles, gardens and insider tips such as the Babelsberg Film Park or DAS MINSK with its modern and contemporary art at your leisure. Top destinations such as the spa town of Bad Saarow on Lake Scharmützel or the baroque Neuzelle Monastery are within easy reach. Another popular destination is the Spreewald - a lagoon-like water labyrinth that is unique in Europe and offers opportunities for canoeing, hiking and cycling. The Uckermark Lakes Nature Park invites you to linger.
With BER Airport as a starting point, visitors have endless opportunities to explore Brandenburg. The very dense network of public transport means that many attractive places are not far away.
